What is Web Accessibility?

Web accessibility means ensuring that everyone who visits your website is able to interact with your Web content.  Barriers to web accessibility often impact individuals with disabilities, but can also present to users who rely on older devices or browsers, experience language barriers, or face temporary impairments such as a broken arm or even a slow network connection.

Cybervise can help you uncover and fix the barriers preventing users from accessing your website.

Why is Accessibility Important?

  • It’s good for business – An accessible website can expand the reach of your digital presence, widening your audience to users who would otherwise be excluded. Having a more accessible website will generally improve the experience of all of your users both with and without disabilities. Plus, your commitment to accessibility will have a positive impact on your brand’s public image. All of this leads to more business.
  • It improves your site’s SEO – User experience is paramount to ranking highly in organic search results.  Providing a positive user experience to more users will increase user engagement rates, which signals to Google that your site is valuable.
  • It’s the law – In the United States, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) mandates that all state and local government entities, as well as businesses that serve the public, provide equal access to their services and accommodations to people with disabilities.  As the internet becomes more and more a part of everyday life, the DOJ has asserted time and again that it considers websites “places of public accommodation”.

Our Web Accessibility Services Include:

Accessibility Review

The Website Accessibility Review is a one-time project. Cybervise will produce a full audit report with action items to fix issues, and suggestions on how to keep the site compliant ongoing. You have the option of taking the report and fixing items yourself, or taking the report to a webmaster to have issues cleaned-up. The Review includes a final review to make sure issues are resolved.

Website Remediation

Cybervise will take your Website Accessibility report and provide a quote. We will complete the list or work needed on the website to clear your audit. This is also a one-time project. Quote will be based on the action items listed in your audit report.

If your site is an online store or a frequent content publisher, consider maintenance for compliance. Cybervise will monitor your site for any issues that pop-up after the initial Website Accessibility Review and remediate problems as they occur. Maintenance plans are based on the size of the site and frequency of site updates.
